As one of two Intern and Quest Coordinators, as a team you would be planning and running our 2 tiered leadership training programs for 16 and 17 year old campers. Our quest program is for 16 year old campers learning how to contribute as a role model and positive learning within a working group. Our Intern training program is for our 17 year campers who have applied and interviewed for the program who want to learn how to be a camp counselor - working with our special population. You will be developing training workshops, practicum placements within camp,carrying out supportive and developmental evaluations and helping each participant reach their fullest potential within the program. These are dedicated campers who apply for the program and you would be providing them with unforgettable camp leadership experiences and memories. You would be onsite during all camp sessions and will receive full meals and living accommodations.
You will have a summer experience of your lifetime and give one to campers who may have never had the opportunity to have one.
Other Positions Still available:
• Outdoor Program Instructors, Sail Instructors, Canoe and Kayak Instructors
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Standard First Aid and CPR
• Experience working with children
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Hardworking and dedicated, with a desire to learn and contribute to the team
Beneficial Skills and Experience:
• NL or Bronze Cross certification
Each site needs to hire 20 lifeguard certified counselors, so obtaining your NLS qualification is vastly beneficial and will open up more employment opportunities.
• Experience in teaching specific activities, such as swimming, rope climbing, canoeing, etc.
