Camp Arowhon is a traditional co-ed residential summer camp in the heart of Algonquin Park, Ontario. Our mission is to nurture and challenge children, both physically and emotionally. Our community of 360 campers is big enough to be diverse but still feels like a family. Our team of 160 staff means that the campers get a ton of individual attention, and you have a whole bunch of like-minded people to hang out with.
At Arowhon, you will receive professional training and expert support and supervision. You will grow yourself while you help children grow. You will leave feeling proud because you made campers feel proud of themselves. You will work hard and play hard, all in a beautiful wilderness setting.
We are currently seeking an office Administrative Assistant, who is available to work, and live, onsite from June 10th, 2019, until August 26th, 2019.
Approximate salary for this position is $3,500, including food and accommodations.
Transportation to / from Algonquin Park from Toronto will be provided if required.

Administrative Assistant Job Description
The Administrative Assistant assists the Director of Operations in the smooth running of a busy camp office. This is an 11 week contract. The Administrative Assistant works at the camp office and lives and works at camp in Algonquin Park from mid June until the end of August. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director of Operations.
Core Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting the Director of Operations with administrative matters, including all administrative relationships with campers, parents and staff.
• Data entry, running reports and organizing mailings
• As telephone receptionist, provides front-line warm telephone welcome to camper families and prospective families
• Prepares mailings and makes photocopies
• Involved in the production of camp’s printed material and forms, with graphic consistency
• Maintains contracts and correspondence files, camper and staff files
• Helps with organization of camper and staff travel to and from camp
• Helps with tracking, maintenance and filing of staff and camper forms
Core Competencies
• Understands a sense of urgency and can work under pressure and quickly
• High degree of confidentiality
• Pays attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time
• Ability to prioritize, and work to deadlines
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Computer literacy – data entry and ability to work with camp database
• Ability to work individually and in a team environment
