Camp Tamakwa is a co-ed overnight summer children`s camp located on Tea Lake in Algonquin Park, Canada. We are currently planning our variety of canoe trips and looking for guides that could safely lead our campers and staff along the many wilderness routes in this beautiful landscape.
Traditionally, every guide would be leading three to five canoe trips each month. The classic cabin group trips range from two to five days in length but there are also longer trips offered that have the group paddling and camping from 8-15 days.
The Guide, along with the Cabin Counsellor, will be responsible for leading the campers each day while, at a leisurely pace, teaching them paddling, portaging, and camping skills throughout the duration of the trip. We believe that `leading by example` is a very successful form of instruction in this nature based classroom.
We require that the Canoe Trip Leader/Guide has previous experience and/or an academic education in leading canoe trips of this kind with children. Financial bonuses are offered to candidates with additional First Aid, Lifesaving, and Canoe Guide Certifications.
The summer dates for a guiding position are from June 17th to August 17th.
Additional employment may be possible starting earlier in June and lasting throughout September.

Also, great to check out Tamakwa on our social media accounts to see what #TamakwaSpirit is all about!
